Goals Galore on a Saturday!

Bromley Green began their pre-season campaign with an impressive 6-4 victory over Biddenden in a thrilling encounter. The match saw Bromley Green dominate the first half, taking a commanding lead with five goals, before weathering a spirited Biddenden comeback.

The home side wasted no time in asserting their dominance, with Wayne Donovan leading the charge. Donovan opened the scoring early on and went on to complete a hat-trick, showcasing his sharpness in front of goal. Harvey Luxford and Theo Mufetu also got on the scoresheet before the break, giving Bromley Green a comfortable 5-0 advantage.

Bromley Green manager Alex Hebbes made some changes to the lineup, which seemed to disrupt their rhythm. Biddenden seized the opportunity and mounted a comeback, scoring three quick goals to bring the score to 5-3, raising concerns for the lettuces.

However, Bromley Green managed to regain their composure, and a penalty awarded late in the game provided the chance to seal the win. Ed Debrett stepped up confidently to convert the spot-kick, extending the lead to 6-3. Biddenden managed to score a consolation goal in the dying moments of the match, but it wasn’t enough to prevent Bromley Green from securing the victory.

This match marked the first pre-season outing for a Bromley Green side that has clearly matured over the summer. They will look to build on this performance when they face Staplehurst Monarchs away from home on the 17th of August.
